Prix Energheia Liban – Edition 2017

Edition 2016

Our Short Story Contest – launched in early march 2016 – came to a successful close. The winning stories for 2016 edition (in assessment order) are:

1° “The Guilt” by George Yakoub Yakoub;

2° “In silenzio” by Ciancarella.

Short stories contest

Under the patronage of the Region Basilicata, the Dante Alighieri Society and the Cultural Association Energheia of Matera (ITALY), in collaboration with the Institut Français of Tripoli, announce the literary contest “Prix Energheia Liban – Edition 2017”

  1. Writers can participate to the contest with just one unpublished short story, written in Italian, English or French language, on a freely chosen subject, no longer than seven pages (25 lines per page).
  2. The story must be sent or handed before June 25th 2017 in two typed copy and/or in a soft copy on Microsoft Word format, not signed, together with a letter containing the author’s name, age and address (telephone number and e-mail) to the following address:

  1. A committee, appointed by the organizers of the contest, will read and evaluate the stories in order to indicate the best five to be submitted to the Italian Jury for final judgment.
  2. Prix Energheia Liban has the unrestricted right to publish and reproduce the winning stories (including runners up), in the original language and in translation.
  3. it’s up to the organizers of the contest to decide about anything which is not included in the present regulations.

Comics contest

Under the patronage of the Region Basilicata, the Dante Alighieri Society and the Cultural Association Energheia of Matera (ITALY), in collaboration with the Institut Français of Tripoli, announce the contest “Prix Energheia Liban – Edition 2017”- Comics Section.

All young cartoonists can submit an unpublished comics, on free subject, in Italian, English or French language. Comics submissions must be not more than 10 pages, using any kind of manual technique, both color and black-and-white pages will be accepted. Entries must be sent or handed together with a letter containing the author’s name, age and address (telephone number and e-mail) to the following address:

  1. A panel of comics experts chosen by the promoters of the contest will evaluate the artworks in order to choose the best three to be submitted to the Italian Jury for final judgment.
  2. The jury will select the winner of comics contest. The winning entry and the two second prize winners will be published. Prix Energheia Liban has the unrestricted right to publish and reproduce the winning stories (including runners up). It’s up to the organizers of the contest to decide about anything which is not included in the present regulations. The subjects and the comics, whether published or not by the Association shall remain exclusive property of the authors.

Writers and cartoonists must be not less than 18 years old. The closing date for entries is June 25th 2017.The Jury will declare the winning story and comics. The author awarded the first prize will have plane ticket and accommodation expenses paid in order to take part to the final ceremony that will be held in Matera (Italy), in September 2017.

Notre Concours de Nouvelles – lancé au début de mars 2016 – s’est terminé avec succès. Les nouvelles gagnantes dans l’édition 2016 sont dans l’ordre:

Concours littéraire

Sous le patronage de la Région Basilicate, la Société Dante Alighieri, l’association culturelle Energheia de Matera (ITALIE), en collaboration avec l’Institut Français de Tripoli, organisent le “Prix Energheia Liban – édition 2017”- Concours littéraire.

  1. Les participants doivent présenter une seule nouvelle inédite, à sujet libre, en langue italienne, anglaise ou française et de sept pages maximum, 25 lignes par page.
  2. La nouvelle doit être remise ou envoyée, avant le 25 juin 2017 en deux exemplaires dactylographiés et/ou en fichier électronique en format Microsoft Word sur CD, non signés, avec une note comprenant les données personnelles de l’auteur, à l’adresse suivante:

  1. Un Comité de lecture, choisi par les Promoteurs du Prix de chaque pays participant, évaluera les nouvelles parvenues pour en sélectionner cinq. Ces cinq nouvelles seront soumises au jugement du Jury en Italie.
  2. Les organisateurs se réservent le droit de publier les nouvelles retenues et de les reproduire sans rien devoir aux auteurs, sauf le respect du texte dans son intégralité.
  3. Tout ce qui n’est pas mentionné dans ce règlement, dépend entièrement de la décision des organisateurs du Prix.

Concours bandes dessinées

Sous le patronage de la Région Basilicate, la Société Dante Alighieri, l’association culturelle Energheia de Matera (ITALIE), en collaboration avec l’Institut Français de Tripoli, organisent le “Prix Energheia Liban – édition 2017” – Section bandes dessinées.

  1. Les participants doivent envoyer une histoire racontée en bandes dessinées, inédite, à thème libre, en italien, anglais ou français, de 10 planches au maximum, en noir et blanc ou en couleurs, en utilisant n’importe quelle technique manuelle, avec une note comprenant les données personnelles de l’auteur, à l’adresse suivante:

  1. Un comité d’experts, choisi par les promoteurs du Prix, évaluera les bandes dessinées présentées pour en choisir trois qui seront soumis au jugement final du Jury en Italie.
  2. Toutes les bandes dessinées finalistes seront publiées. Prix Energheia Liban se réserve le droit de publier les bandes dessinées présentées, sans rien devoir aux auteurs sauf le respect de l’intégrité du texte. Pour tout ce qui n’est pas mentionné dans ce règlement, les décisions reviennent aux organisateurs. Les sujets et les bandes dessinées, publiés ou non par l’association, restent la propriété exclusive des auteurs respectifs.

Tous les jeunes à partir de l’âge de 18 ans peuvent y participer. La nouvelle ou la bande dessinée doit être remise ou envoyée avant le 25 juin 2017. Le Jury du Prix désignera le lauréat qui gagnera un voyage par avion et un séjour à Matera (Italie) pour la Cérémonie de la remise des prix, prévue au mois de septembre 2017.

Counselling Student Forum

The Second Counselling Student Forum will take place on Friday 17th March in the Glass Hall of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture – Tripoli. The purpose is to create a Forum between students, International Universities and Institutions, which will represents an opportunity for interaction, where experts will explain and support students to understand academic and educational process.

Dante Alighieri Lebanon will be there to introduce you into Italian Universities world, courses and scholarships. Moreover, during this occasion will be explained how to register and obtain the required certificates.

PERFECT STRANGERS – PERFETTI SCONOSCIUTI

The European Film Festival will open on Wednesday 22 February with the Italian film PERFETTI SCONOSCIUTI (PERFECT STRANGERS) by Paolo Genovese, which was awarded the David di Donatello for Best Film in 2016.Italian with English subtitles – FREE ENTRY

Festival du Cinema Europeen @ Tripoli

The 23rd European Film Festival is organised by the Delegation of the European Union in collaboration with the embassies and cultural institutes of the European Union Member States, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

The European Film Festival will open on Wednesday 22 February with the Italian film Perfetti Sconosciuti (Perfect Strangers) by Paolo Genovese, which was awarded the David di Donatello for Best Film in 2016.

In a continuous effort to promote and showcase European culture to the widest possible audience throughout the country, the European Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Nabatieh (5-7 February), Tyre (8-10 February), Deir el Qamar (7-10 February), Zahle (13-16 February), Baalbeck (16-17 February), Jounieh (13-20 February) and Tripoli (22-25 February). A number of films will be screened in the seven cities, in collaboration with the local office of the Institut français du Liban.
